As we get older many of us come to need a helping hand in running our day-to-day lives. With a little forward-thinking you can be prepared for worst-case scenarios by creating a Power of Attorney. This stipulates who you’d like to be in charge of managing your affairs should you become unable to do so, and who you trust to make important decisions on your behalf. If you do not make a power of attorney, the law may make that decision for you and ultimately your wishes may not be fulfilled.

Court of Protection

Sadly you may find yourself in a position where a family member or close friend has suffered ill health and has become unable to manage their own affairs. If they have not made a power of attorney, you or someone close to them will need to apply to the Court of Protection to be appointed as their Deputy to help manage their affairs.

Such applications can involve complicated procedures and paperwork, and can often prove hard for someone to undertake on their own at what can be a very upsetting and stressful time. Let F Barnes assist you, should you find yourself in this unfortunate position.
