F Barnes sponsored Havering Half Marathon

Team F Barnes were out in the community again at the Havering Half Marathon on Sunday 12th September 2021. There were nearly 1000 participants who were running either the half marathon or 10km. The sun was shining and the crowd were buzzing as we got together at Abbs Cross Academy in Hornchurch.

The event scheduled for 2020 like many, was postponed due to the pandemic. With things starting to return to some form of normality the event was given the go ahead earlier in the summer and we hope that a considerable amount of money has been raised for charity.

There were a few personal highlights for team FB. We met the great granddaughter of Frederick Barnes who was our founder back in 1955. Nicola Tomlin, pictured with Sangeet Tatem and Tina Marwa, expressed how pleased she always was when she saw that her great grand fathers legal legacy still lived on!

Jeff Brazier was there running and took the time out to meet the team. We were also delighted to be working alongside the fundraising team of St Francis Hospice, Sean, Andy and Rosie who were all there in support.

The winner of the Marathon, Barry Smith came in at 1 hour 18 minutes, absolutely amazing stuff.

We have taken a video of  you all starting the race, why not check it out to see if you recognise yourself or someone you know and let us know when you finished.

Some of our highlights of the day are captured below.
