Assistant Legal Cashier Vacancy at our Romford Office

Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced legal cashier to assist in accounts and with our administration. The candidate needs to be experienced in LEAP case management and XERO accounting.

The candidate needs to be naturally enthusiastic, committed and keen to contribute to the growth of the firm.

This position would ideally suit someone who has been in this industry for some time who wishes to start working 3 days per week and gradually increase to 4 or 5 days. They should also be able to work extras days if needed to provide holiday cover at prior arrangement.

This role ideally suits someone who is looking to progress to accounts manager to accommodate our succession planning needs.

The role will be based at our Romford office. The practice has been established for over 65 years but progressive.

Based in Romford, Collier Row and Gidea Park, we act for a wide range of commercial and private sector clients.

The role

  • To undertake daily banking functions including bank reconciliations and operation of online banking facilities.
  • The processing of client and office accounting transactions including all postings onto LEAP and Xero
  • Checking of all Residential and Commercial Conveyancing completion statements and financial checklists.
  • The input and payment of faster and CHAPS and international payments.
  • The processing of client bills to include checking and posting.
  • Assist in month end procedures and the production of month end reports
  • Processing of travel and other expenses and purchase ledger system
  • Assisting with our annual Audit and Lexcel inspections.
  • Assisting in the daily routine tasks including filing and data input. .
  • Dealing with File Closing Sheets and Aged Client balances.
  • Assisting in the daily administrative duties which are also undertaken within our accounts department.

Experience Required

  • The candidate must have at least 3 years accounts experience
  • The candidate needs to have experience in LEAP and Xero accounting software
  • Knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of computers and software with good keyboard skills.
  • Practical experience of handling client enquiries

Job Type: Part-time

Part-time hours: 21 per week

Salary: Competitive salary according to experience with bonus pay.
