£2300 raised for St Francis Hospice at Our Lawn Bowls Networking Event

On 12th September local businesses attended our annual lawn bowls fundraising event in aid of St Francis Hospice.

Romford Bowls club very kindly host the event each year. There were ten teams which entered the fun competition with Team 9 winning the overall event.

Team 9 members were, Jonathan Walford of Walford & Phelps, Priscilla, Michael and Ahmet from F Barnes seen below receiving their awards.

Adam Gordon of St Francis Hospice opened the afternoon, welcoming everyone that had come along stating that they need at least £10 million each year just to maintain the services they provide to our community. As corporate members of the St Francis Business Alliance Group we work alongside the patron Mr Barry Hearn in driving forward the fundraising effort so needed every year.

We would like to give a special thank you to Romford Bowls Club for hosting the event and  Barclays Bank for agreeing to match fund the amount raised on the raffle, helping to significantly boost the amount raised.

Paul Bridgeman and the team of Clive Emson Auctioneers were there to support the event  and conduct the auction. Several organisations donated raffle and auction items and  thanks go to Vernon of Reminiscing Sporting Moments, Romford Golf Club, Romford FC, Bentley Golf Club, Phoenix FM and Essex Cricket Club for their kind contributions.
