We offer a warm welcome to Ammarah Balouch, who joined us this week after several months of waiting. We are very excited to have Ammarah join our team and look forward to working alongside her in the years to come.

Ammarah graduated from Surrey University with a degree in Law and Criminology in 2016 and completed her LPC and Masters at City Law school.

Whilst at City Law school, Ammarah obtained the Ubantu scholarship to travel to South Africa where she subsequently completed an internship providing free legal advice to vulnerable people. This opportunity opened the chance for Ammarah to travel to various parts of the world providing free legal advice to refugees and people in need. Ammarah is immensely proud to have acted as a delegate for the United Nations as a result.

Following on from her travels Ammarah worked in various city law firms, working in several different areas of law, such as marine litigation, property, immigration, human rights, family, and childcare law.

Over the past five years Ammarah has solely worked in family and childcare law where she feels most at home. Ammarah is extremely passionate about this area of law, feeling that she can make a difference to people's lives when they are at their most vulnerable. Over the years she has acted on a varied caseload of private and public family and children matters, including care proceedings, private law children disputes and domestic abuse matters.

Her particular experience includes divorce, private children disputes, including applications for Child Arrangements Orders, Prohibited Steps Orders and Specific Issues Orders, matters involving allegations of domestic abuse, including coercive, controlling behaviour, and representing parents in care proceedings.

Her cases often involve issues of abuse, non-accidental injury, drug and alcohol addiction and mental illness.

Ammarah is also a keen advocate and has gained a considerable amount of experience here, this is beneficial for her clients as she regularly represents them at the court hearings,  keeping the close relationship with her clients, at its best. Ammarah is happiest when representing her clients at court in person if she feels this will be in their best interests. This removes the need for instructing Barristers to attend.

Ammarah prides herself on being sympathetic and approachable to her clients, she is highly conscientious and works over and above to act in the best interests of her clients. She is committed to providing the best service possible with the upmost sensitivity for their situation.

In her spare time I enjoy travelling, equestrian and spending quality time with friends and family.

Ammarah is based at our Romford branch under the supervision of Tiina Juhanson the Head of Family Department.

You can contact Ammarah direct with all your family enquiries.
