Kirstie Tompkins - Licensed Conveyancer Residential Property

We are delighted to announce the long awaited arrival of Kirstie Tompkins who  joins us today having spent two and a half years at Kew Law Solicitors at their Chelmsford branch, overseeing their Conveyancing department.  We feel Kirstie is a perfect match for us as she has the same client focus as the rest of our team at F Barnes. Welcome Kirstie, we look forward to working with you and your lovely clients as we begin this new and exciting year ahead.

Kirstie graduated from the University of Hertfordshire in 2010 having read Law and obtained a 2.1 degree. She began her legal career at HRJ Foreman Laws Solicitors in May 2013 and spent five years assisting and training under the Head of Property. Kirstie qualified as a Licenced Conveyancer in 2019.

Kirstie specialises in all areas of Conveyancing to include residential freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, transfers of equity and remortgages, new builds, shared ownerships, probate sales, Power of Attorney sales and purchases, part-exchange, Building Safety Act and Help to Buy Redemptions. Kirstie also has experience acting for companies and property developers.

Kirstie enjoys being part of a growing property team and is a keen teacher and mentor for new members of staff. She has trained a number of junior lawyers and is proud to say that several of her trainees are now practising residential property solicitors. It gives Kirstie great pleasure to see her trainees achieving their goals.

Kirstie has a great passion for achieving a successful outcome for all her clients. She is extremely well liked and respected by her them and business associates alike. Kirstie is someone that is personable, caring, efficient, and extremely knowledgeable in property law.

Kirstie particularly loves acting for first time buyers and getting them into their dream home as she knows how much this means to them.  Her favourite part of the job is calling her clients to confirm completion has taken place, letting them know they can collect their keys and begin the next chapter of their life!

Outside of work, Kirstie is extremely sporty with a keen interest for cricket and kick boxing. She loves spending time with her friends and family (especially her Grandad) reading, baking and playing with her naughty kittens Anna and Elsa.

What the Clients Say:

Kirstie is a true professional. From the very start of my property purchase she showed her knowledge, skills and commitment for the task – which in itself provided great reassurance. I remember her saying straight away how much she loves her job, which is not only an aspiring thing to hear, but also entirely true! Throughout the conveyancing process I could feel her enthusiasm and a clear willingness to help solve any issues that cropped up. As a first-time buyer, it is inevitably quite a nerve-racking experience, but the fact Kirstie was so helpful, organised, and responsible meant any stress was minimised. And she worked with such good grace – both by email and on the phone.

Property conveyancing is complex and has various moving parts; while some people may want only to deal with their own area, Kirstie clearly takes a strategic view and can understand and relate to each aspect of the process. This really makes a difference in making sure delays are not allowed to creep in unnecessarily. She is bright, able, thorough – and frankly a gem of a conveyancer. I cannot thank and recommend her enough.

Mr A Teddy

I genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better service. Kirstie dealt with my house purchase from start to finish, alleviating any additional stresses you may normally face when buying a house. Kirstie is pragmatic in her work and dealt with my purchase as though I was her only client. Kirstie would always respond to my calls and emails as soon as possible and not once did I have to chase her. Her calm and sensible approach to problem solving is extremely helpful when communicating with others. Kirstie is extremely attentive which is not something I have experienced before with a solicitor. I have used Kirstie for two house purchases now and wouldn’t consider going to anyone else. I would highly recommend her work to anyone looking for an extremely knowledgeable and proactive solicitor.
